As the project has progressed the builders should have been cleaning as they go. With the work done now is time to finish removing all the building debris, removing the tape and plastic that has sealed off the rest of the home, As the dust settles – literally – it is a great time to hire professional cleaners to dust, vacuum and clean every inch of your home including the inside of the ductwork.

Spend time double checking the less obvious places that remodeling debris can be left.  Look in the attic, in the crawl space, in the garage and attic as well as on the roof and in the gutters.  It is best to clean everything all at once and thoroughly than clean up after  remodel piece meal.

Investing in a cleaning service for the duct work is great idea as dust from the remodel likely settled in the heating and cooling duct work.  If you do not clean the ducts after your remodel this dust will just be blown into your home again the next time you turn your AC or heating on.

A thorough dusting is a great idea too since the dust likely accumulated places that you rarely clean during your remodel.  Windows too are often overlooked but can have tape, paint and other leftovers from the remodel.

If you spend extra time cleaning now you will be happier with the results of your remodel and wont be disappointed in the future finding mess after mess that was left over from your remodel.
