If you plan to sell your home in four or five years, it probably does not make sense to use colored plumbing fixtures when you remodel a bathroom. Unless you want to invest in new plumbing fixtures again before you put the house on the market, you should probably use a neutral color like white, ivory, cream or beige. White continues to be the leading color choide and is probably the safest choice.
Color preferences are so varied among humans that it is difficult to say that any prospective home buyer will have the same taste in bathroom decor as the current homeowner. Keep in mind, as well, that designers favor a different decorating color each year and that color preferences tend to change every three to five years.
