Spend a few minutes thinking about the remodeling contractor work rules that you want for your project?  It is important that you communicate to the contractor what is needed to make the project less stressful for you and your family.  It is important to discuss these items – then write each of these remodeling contractor work rules down so you and your contractor has a copy.  You can include these rules in your contract with the contractor – or not – either way is fine.  It is important that it does get written down to avoid confusion and disagreements.

Typical Remodeling Contractor Work Rules

  • Work how many days a week?  5,6 or 7?
  • Earliest that you would like the contractor to start work and latest to finish work each day?
  • Which entrances/exits to use coming in and out of the house
  • Smoking near or in the house?
  • Keep gate and or doors closed for pets?
  • Protecting floor, walls, outdoor landscaping and hardscape?
