If you are trying to bring additional light into a dark corner or a windowless bathroom, hallway or foyer, you can install a tube light for about 1/3 the cost of installing a window. A tube light is essentially a very small skylight that admits sunlight to an interior space. A tube light is exactly what the name implies. It is a tube that is inserted through the roof and between the roof rafters with a glass or plastic bubble on the roof. The tube then extends down through the ceiling of the area you want to illuminate, channeling natural sunlight through the tube. Tube lights will be easy to install for most do-it-yourselfers. The idea is perfect for a windowless bathroom or a hallway with no space for a window.
