Another way to save on your house addition or remodel is to buy tools and sell them when your project is completed. You can either buy new tools, take care of them, and then re-sell, or you can buy used tools that are in good condition, take care of them, and then re-sell. In either case, you will be able to recover a sizeable part of your initial investment. Tools can be bought or sold at auctions, flea markets, yard and garage sales, and online. It is even possible to buy used tools, use them for your project, clean them up, and sell them for more than your original cost.
