Many people invest in costly furnace-attached air filtration systems. Many others use other types of air purifiers to ensure clean air in their homes. But you can save the cost of the equipment and the power to operate it by using the right houseplants in your home. The safest, easiest to grow, and most effective for removing toxins from the air are Chinese Evergreen, Mother-in-law’s Tongue, Peace Lily, Spider plant, Ficus, Gerbera Daisy and Golden Pothos. There are other plants that are effective, but are not recommended if there are small children in the home because they are poisonous. These include Aloe Vera, Mums, English Ivy and Heart Leaf Philodendron. For additional information, check with your local florist.
