Another easy way to save money in your remodel or addition is to use scraps of various materials in creative ways. In particular, you can use tile scraps in a kitchen or bathroom remodel to create drawer and door pulls for your cabinetry. A little sanding and shaping will make tile scraps into unique drawer and door pulls that will also extend your design elements consistently throughout the room. Once you have shaped and smoothed the scraps, they can be glued to the doors and drawers with epoxy or super glue. If you want the shaped pieces to extend for ease of use, just glue a small piece first and then glue the shaped tile pieces to it. You can create the amount of extension you want by adding fragments or by creating a tubular piece of tile to extend from the surface of the cabinet to the shaped piece.
