The slope of the roof can be used in many ways to provide extra space for a variety of uses.

If the room is to be a children’s play room, for example, the space under the lowest part of the slope of the ceiling could be a great place to store toys and games.

In a bedroom, you might try to work the space into your design for storage, for bookcases, or to put the bed under the slope.

Other storage uses might be possible if there is enough space under the slope to allow you to walk inside the “dead” area to have access to items stored there.

Yet another option is to build dormers to open up that space.
