1. Add an attractive but inexpensive area rug. Make sure it is big enough to accommodate the footprint of the table and the chairs and have an extra foot in back of them as well. Remember, you can add an area rug even if you already have wall to wall carpeting — just make sure it has a low profile (like a  cow hide).
2. If you have an old chandelier above your table, change it out! You will be surprised at the selection of lighting options available, even on a modest budget.
3. Don’t be afraid to use chairs that are different colors. This will add drama to the room and will turn your table into a “work of art.”
4. Paint one of the walls an accent color. If you are a novice or feel intimidated, consult with an experienced Interior Designer who works on an hourly basis.
