They are not just cliches: “There is No Place Like Home,” “I want to go home,” and “It feels like Home,” are all sentiments with more than a grain of truth to them.

There is just something comforting about the idea of  “home,” and there is also something to be said about living in the same place for the rest of our lives.

That’s where the concept of “Aging in Place” comes into play. At some point, you will have to make some modifications to your home so that you can continue to live there in comfort and safety.

One great idea is to remove a wall —

let’s say it’s the wall in between your formal dining room and your kitchen.  Removing this wall will give you more flexibility as well a provide for greater mobility as you age in place. No need to expand the house when the space you already have is all you need to accomplish your goal – a home for the rest of your life! Consult with a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) for the best results.
