Can you still receive text messages from a blocked number?

No, you cannot receive text messages from a blocked number. When you block a contact, the person is removed from your contacts list and you no longer receive calls, messages, or FaceTime from that contact.

In addition, any messages sent from them will not be delivered to you and you will not receive any notifications about them. The person will also be unable to see when you are active or if you have read their messages.

Why can a blocked number still text me?

When a number is blocked, the blocked person’s calls and texts are prevented from getting through to the person who blocked the number. However, in some cases, a blocked number might still be able to text you.

This can happen when the person who blocked the number didn’t block it properly. Additionally, some carriers may allow a blocked number to text the person who blocked even if the block is properly implemented.

This is not typical, but it is possible. In other cases, the blocked number may be able to text the person who blocked them depending on the phone’s settings. If the settings are not properly set up, the blocked person may technically be able to send a text.

Finally, the blocked number may be able to get through via a different messaging service. Depending on the phone’s settings, a blocked number may be able to still text using alternative messaging services, such as Skype, Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp.

Can you see if a blocked caller has tried to contact you?

Yes, if your phone is set up to provide you with recent call information and the other party has attempted to contact you from a number that has been blocked, then you should be able to see the recent call in your phone’s call log, provided you have enabled it to log blocked calls.

The call log will display a notification that the incoming call was blocked, however, the details of the call (i. e. date, time, and caller’s name, if available) will still appear. If you are unsure if the blocked caller has tried to contact you, you can use the recent call log to determine whether the call originated from a blocked number.

What happens when you call a blocked number?

When you call a blocked number, the call will not be able to connect. You will be redirected to your network’s voicemail service or it will give you a busy signal or fast busy signal to indicate that the call was not successful.

The caller will not receive any notification or know that the call did not go through. If you are calling a blocked number on your own phone, you may receive a message informing you that the caller cannot be reached.

Depending on your phone’s settings, you may also be able to view the blocked number on your call log. However, even if you do see the blocked number, the call will still not go through. When the number is blocked, the person who blocked the number will not receive a missed call notification, and they will not be charged for the attempted call.
