What species is Kingpin?

Kingpin is a large American bullfrog (Lithobates catesbeianus) found in swamps, ponds, and slow-moving streams of the central and eastern United States. It is the largest member of the Ranidae (true frog) family and can exceed 6 inches in length.

Its mottled green and brown skin, lined with prominent ridges, gives it a “warty” appearance. The eyes feature bright yellow and iridescent black pupils, surrounded by a broad golden circle. Males can be identified by their broad heads, large tympanum (ear), and yellow vocal sacs.

Kingpin’s diet consists of a variety of aquatic invertebrates, although adult frogs may supplement their diet with small insects, fish, and even other frogs. Reproductively, females lay large masses of eggs in still, shallow waters that usually hatch within a week.

Newly emerged frogs feed on plankton and insect larvae, growing rapidly to their adult size. This species is considered a flagship species due to its large size and ability to provides ecological services, such as controlling mosquito populations.

Is the Kingpin super human?
